Thinking of Selling your Wedding Dress?
So we have covered taking the best possible care of your Wedding Dress both before & after the day itself, but what about if you’re thinking of selling? Keep reading as there is some crucial info you don’t want to miss!
Selling Your Dress
Now maybe you have decided you want to sell your wedding dress after the day, and whilst I am a sentimental at heart and love the idea of brides keeping hold of their special dresses, I understand that that is not for everyone! There are a few things you ought to consider when thinking about selling your dress.
- People buying your dress will look out for an Empty Box Company box. As I mentioned, we are the only company that exists doing what we do, and another bride-to-be who may be buying her wedding dress second hand will still want it to be in as perfect condition as possible. This means an easier sale for you, and likely a higher asking price too as you can confidently say your dress has been stored correctly for however many months or years between your wedding and the date you sell your dress.
- Bridal shops and other buying outlets will also be looking for a dress stored correctly in one of our boxes. The same goes for businesses who take on second-hand dresses (perhaps even more so), especially as we work with the majority of Bridal Shops across the country.
- It is extra important you get your dress dry cleaned if you are selling. This is perhaps an obvious one, but you would be surprised by how many people overlook the dry cleaning side of wedding dress care, and then are surprised when they can’t get their dress shifted as no-one wants a stained or discoloured dress! If you need any recommendations for reputable dry cleaners, please do feel free to reach out as again we work with many across the country.

Abroad Weddings
The last little instalment from me (for now!) is going to be about taking your wedding dress abroad. Perhaps not relevant to everyone, but an important topic to cover for those who are having a destination wedding!
