Storing a kilt isn’t difficult but it is important to store correctly to make sure your kilt will look perfect at every event.

It is very important to store your kilt dry, so if you think it has absorbed any moisture from an event when it is worn, allow it to air and dry out before placing in your Kilt Box.

Wool likes to breathe so giving it room while being stored is a good idea, as is keeping it free from changes in humidity and moisture. Hanging a kilt is often advised but sometimes this can cause sagging. If sagging occurs this will stretch the wool which is difficult to correct so it’s best to avoid this occurring in the first place. Storing it in a Kilt Box keeps it flat, protected & pH neutral and breathable environment.

Our Kilt Box is a simple stylish slim box perfect for housing a kilt. It contains 10 sheets of tissue paper but does not have ribbon or lace trim. But like wedding dresses, kilts also benefit from safe protective pH neutral storage.

Acid Free Tissue paper is provided with each box and Sporran & Garters Box is available to match your Kilt Box. We advise you store these items separately because they are made of different materials to the wool of your kilt.
